ONE OF JUST 13 BUILT: W09 VIN RT12 WITH 31K MILES
In the rarified world of RUF Automobiles there are two types of cars: Porsches that have been modified or otherwise converted to RUF specification and cars that were born RUFs and bear a RUF W09 vin. HCC's RT12 is the latter: one of 13 built, this RT12 is a 2007 model finished in Carrara White that was optioned with RUF's close-ratio 6-speed manual transmission, all wheel drive, and a laundry list of RUF optional equipment including an integrated roll cage, carbon ceramic brakes, 19” Superleggera wheels, and a hydraulic front lift.
What truly makes the RT12 special, though, is it's powerplant: based on the 996 Turbo's Mezger-designed unit that had its beginnings in the 1998 LeMans winning GT1, the RT12s engine is bored and de-stroked from 3.6L to 3.8L and boasts larger KKK turbochargers, new intake manifold and heads, larger throttle bodies, Mahle pistons, and custom RUF camshafts. All-in, this new RUF powerplant is good for a factory rating of 650hp, though both dyno figures and whispers out of Pfaffenhausen suggest the real-world figure starts with a seven. Showing just 31k miles, this is a rare opportunity to own a United States legal, factory RUF from the 997 generation with a manual transmission.
